Docks with slips can be covered or uncovered. Uncovered options are very similar in installation to a platform dock.  Their predrilled holes make assembly a breeze. These docks can be installed with a couple people with basic DIY skills and a few common household tools.  Covered docks require some additional building skills and do require some drilling in the roof structure.

Platform docks are ideal for a kit dock installation because there is no roof structure. Their frames predrilled holes make assembly a breeze. These docks can be installed with a couple people with basic DIY skills and a few common household tools. The only drilling is 4 small holes per float.
